Abstract

A low-temperature, solution-free fabrication method for graphene-encapsulated low-dimensional nanocomposites (NCs) via the direct graphene growth approach is presented. In article 1500112, S.-Y. Kwon and co-workers synthesize graphene-encapsulated ZnO and Ag NCs following the curved surfaces of ZnO nanoparticles and Ag nanowires pre-embedded in the desired substrate. The thickness of the graphene nanoshells and the size and density of the hybrid nanocomposites can be easily controlled by adjusting the experimental parameters.
