Abstract

Bin Ding and co-authors at Donghua University demonstrate that electrospun fluorinated polyurethane fibrous membranes with hydrophobic surface and interconnected porous structure possess simultaneously breathability (water vapor transmission rate of 11.9 kg m−2 d−1) and waterproofness (hydrostatic pressure of 86 kPa), which would be an appropriate candidate in various applications especially as protective garments.
