Tribology Properties: Laser Irradiation‐Induced SiC@Graphene Sub‐Microspheres: A Bioinspired Core–Shell Structure for Enhanced Tribology Properties (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 5/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
SiC@graphene sub-microspheres decorated by floating flat-blade graphene nanosheets are grown, for the first time, by a simple one-step laser irradiation method. Due to the significant synergistic effect of superhard SiC spheres changing sliding friction into rolling friction effectively and self-lubricating graphene preventing metal-to-metal direct contact by promoting tribofilm formation, such core-shell submicrospheres as lubricant additives exhibit enhanced tribology properties. This is reported by Bingqiang Cao, Haibo Zeng and co-workers in article number 1700839.
