Abstract

The original stress/strain curves in Figure 2p showed erroneous strain percentages exceeding 100%, which was likely caused by uneven surfaces of the bioadhesives. This led to inaccurate initial height measurements and incomplete contact between the upper plate of the Instron machine and the hydrogel surface.A new set of experiments was conducted, where surface irregularities were carefully leveled, and the upper plate of the Instron was manually adjusted to ensure full contact with the hydrogel surface before starting the test. The revised stress/strain curves (Figure 2p) and compressive modulus data (Figure 2q), which fall within the same range as the original data, are included in the updated Figure shown below. These changes do not affect the interpretation of the data or the conclusions of the study. The text on page 7 of the published manuscript is modified to "The hydrogel was found to be soft and sustained compression forces with compressive moduli of 14.5 0.49, 5.9 1.9, and 1.2 0.2 kPa for hydrogels formed by using 3:1, 1:1, and 1:3 AAm/AETAc ratios, respectively (Figure 2q)".
