Magnetic Patterning: Magneto‐Driven Gradients of Diamagnetic Objects for Engineering Complex Tissues (Adv. Mater. 48/2020)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 2005030, Robert L. Mauck and co-workers magnetically pattern diamagnetic objects in 3D hydrogels to engineer complex tissues. Because the diamagnetic objects are suspended in a transiently paramagnetic solution, the objects are repelled from a permanent magnet. Most notably, unlabeled living cells are magneto-patterned to generate cartilaginous tissues with a native-like cell gradient.
