Abstract

In article number 1908424, Yonggang Huang, John A. Rogers, Yihui Zhang, and co-workers present an inverse design method for forming 3D surfaces through buckling-guided transformation of 2D structures. Demonstrations in a variety of target 3D configurations (e.g., flower-, saddle-surface-, waterdrop-, and rodent-shapes) suggest this method as a powerful tool for creating functional devices that demand accurate 3D geometries.
