The Start of the Next 30 Years of Advanced Materials (Science)
Source abstract
Abstract
The world of scientific publishing evolves rapidly. As a result of declining publication in print, from the beginning of 2018, we stopped asking authors to contribute to the costs of color-figure reproduction in all Advanced journals. In the digital age, online identity security is an important issue, and use of an ORCID identifier is now required for submissions to the Advanced journals. We therefore recommend that you register for your ORCID now, if you have not already done so. With pre-print servers playing an increasingly important role in the early dissemination of unpublished results, all Advanced journals now welcome submissions previously posted on pre-print servers for consideration for publication. Also, with the differences between Communications and Full Papers becoming progressively less distinct, the editors of Advanced Materials will from now on actively offer a direct transfer to our sister journal Advanced Functional Materials for those papers that upon editorial assessment or following peer review narrowly fail to meet the strict selection criteria of the journal, thereby providing our authors with even more opportu nities to publish within the Advanced family in a timely fashion.
