Abstract

Self-organized stimuli-responsive smart materials with adjustable attributes are highly desirable for a plethora of device applications. In article number 1800237, Zhi-Gang Zheng, Weian Zhang, Quan Li, and co-workers demonstrate a light-driven, reversible and dynamic transformation between a stable 3D simple cubic lattice, which is quite uncommon in soft condensed matter, and a 1D helical superstructure enabled by an achiral photoresposive molecular-switch-functionalized nanocage, accomplishing unprecedented light-driven recording, erasing, and rewriting of well-defined micropatterns.
