Abstract

In article number 1605512, Lynden A. Archer and coworkers report an approach for stabilizing sodium metal anodes using poly-ionic liquid films grown in-situ on the anode. By means of electrochemical and direct visualization studies, the authors show that the poly-IL membranes stabilize Na against dendrite formation by limiting side reactions with electrolyte, without compromising interfacial ion transport.
