Abstract

A highly transparent, conductive, and mechanically flexible electrode is designed and demonstrated by Krzysztof Kempa, Zhifeng Ren, Jinwei Gao, and co-workers on page 873. It is based on an inexpensive and easily manufacturable uniform metallic network formed by evaporating/sputtering metals onto a template of a naturally cracked gel film, followed by gel removal. This electrode shows very good electro-optical properties with transmittances ranging from 82% (with ca. 4.3 Ω/sq) to 45% (with ca. 0.5 Ω/sq).
