Permanent Magnetic Properties of Sm-Fe-M-C (M = Ga, Si, and Cu) Compounds with the 2:17-Type Structure
Source abstract
Abstract
Permanent magnetic materials with high Curie temperatures based on the rare-earth iron intermetallic compound Sm2Fe17–xMxCy (M = Ga, Si, Cu) are the subject of this article. The structure as well as crystallographic and intrinsic magnetic properties of these compounds are discussed. This is followed by an analysis of the hard magnetic properties of melt-spun Sm2Fe17–xMxCy ribbons, carried out by measuring the temperature dependence of the saturation magnetization, magnetocrystalline anisotropy field, and intrinsic coercivity.
