Pyroptosis‐Mediated Synergistic Photodynamic and Photothermal Immunotherapy Enabled by a Tumor‐Membrane‐Targeted Photosensitive Dimer (Adv. Mater. 25/2023)
Source abstract
Abstract
Synergistic Immunotherapy In article number 2300232, Xu-Man Chen, Zhiyang Liu, Quan Li, and co-workers report a membrane-targeted photosensitive dimer, which is found to exhibit superior antitumor immnotherapy under synergistic photodynamic and photothermal effect. In hypoxic tumor tissue, photodynamic therapy can effectively generate type-I reactive oxygen species, leading to pyroptosis. The remarkable photothermal properties further reinforce the pyroptosis process, thereby activating the antitumor immune response.
