Abstract

Highly Durable Electrocatalysis In article number 2402391, Yonggang Yao, Wentao Gan, and co-workers report a highly active and long-lasting electrocatalyst composed of quinary HEAs (PtNiCoFeCu) encapsulated inside the activated carbonized wood (ACW) through Joule heating and rapid quenching treatment. The surface defects of ACW exhibit thermodynamically stable adsorption on the melting HEAs, which induces HEAs to aggregate and nucleate at the defect sites of ACW. This self-encapsulation design provides a critical strategy to enhance both electrocatalytic activity and stability, which is also applicable to many other energy conversion technologies.
