Abstract

Electrochemical functionality is based on the coupling between ions and electronic charges. In material composites including the conjugated polymer PEDOT, ions and electronic charges can be transported, stored, and processed. As discussed by Magnus Berggren and co-workers in article number 1805813, PEDOT provides unique and high-performing features making it outstanding as the active electrochemical material in, for example, energy technology, bioelectronics, and sensing.
