Abstract

An epitaxially grown NaxCoO2 film can be peeled off from its α-Al2O3 substrate by dissolving the interfacial layer between the film and the substrate in water, as shown in the figure. The freestanding film thus formed can be pasted on an amorphous glass substrate and used for growing an epitaxial ZnO film. This method can be used to impart atomic regularity to amorphous glass, polymer, and metal surfaces.

19. Threefold symmetry due to (2–20) (02–2) and (–202) diffractions can be detected every 120° in the in‐plane rocking curve if the film is composed of a Co3O4single crystal since a (111) oriented Co3O4crystal has a triangular lattice. However sixfold symmetry is observed in the in‐plane rocking curve for the Co3O4film due to these reflections as well as additional (0–22) (20–2) and (–220) peaks (Fig. 3f inset). This clearly indicates the existence of 180° rotated twins in the film.
