Blue Light-Emitting Devices Based on Novel Polymer Blends
Source abstract
Abstract
Improved electroluminescence efficiencies in polymer light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can be achieved either by constructing multilayer devices or by using polymer blends in a single-layer configuration. The photo- and electroluminescence of polymer blends composed of soluble poly(p-terphenyldiyl vinylene) as luminescent polymer and poly(phenylbiphenylylsilylene) as hole-transport polymer are investigated. A significant improvement in the electroluminescence efficiency of devices based on the blend compared to those fabricated from the luminescent polymer alone are reported.
