Abstract

Highly efficient acentric crystalline materials are sought for applications involving various nonlinear optical (NLO) phenomena. A new series of mainly acentric, crystalline materials based on the non-rod-shaped π-conjugated hydrazone skeleton are presented, along with their molecular and NLO properties and the single-crystal X-ray structure of one of them, 3,4-DHNPH. The Figure shows examples of crystals.
