Abstract

The shape of copper metal particles (see Figure) is demonstrated to depend on the structure of the mesophase (cylindrical reverse micelles, interconnected networks of surface aggregates or lamellar phases) i the surfactant system used as a microreactor for their synthesis. An understanding of this correlation is of great importance for magnetic recording technology magnified image.

13. Small angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) experiments were performed on the D22 diffractometer at LURE Orsay (France). The wave vector range was: 0.03 Ã−1≤0.35 Ã−1where q = 4πsin(q)λ 2q is the scattering angle and λ is the radiation wavelength. The scattering intensity I(q) which is the scattering cross section multiplied by a factor depends on the shape and polydispersity of the dispersed objects as well as on the interaction between them. The characteristic distance D* is obtained from the structure factor peak using D* = 2π[qpeak]−1.
