Abstract

The thiophene‐substituted Ru(L) complex shown in the Figure was synthesized and found to undergo polymerization when electrochemically oxidized. The electrochemical characteristics of the resultant polythiophene‐Ru(L) hybrid material were found to be a composite of those displayed by isolated Ru centers and the polymer prepared from the metal‐free ligand. This represents a promising approach to novel redox conductors. magnified image
