Computational Exploration of Dielectric Features in Fullerene C60: A Monte Carlo Study using the Blume–Emery–Griffiths Model
Source abstract
Abstract
This study employs the Blume–Emery–Griffiths model and applies Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the dielectric properties of fullerene C 60, drawing an analogy between magnetic properties by applying an external magnetic field and dielectric properties by applying an external electric field. The analysis examines thermal behavior and electric hysteresis, with results revealing significant impacts from the linear coupling parameter (J σ ), the biquadratic coupling parameter (K), and the external longitudinal electric field (E Z ) on the polarization curves and electric coercive fields. A decrease in parameter D leads to the emergence of a polarization plateau, while changes in parameter K influence the hysteresis loop area and electric coercive fields in a linear manner. These findings highlight the intricate relationships between parameters and their effects on dielectric and thermal properties, suggesting a range of potential nanotechnological applications.
