Reduced Order State Space Model of MWCNT Bundle Interconnects Based on Laguerre-SVD Method
Source abstract
Abstract
By using the state space method, the equivalent circuit model of carbon nanotube (CNT) interconnects can be effectively solved to obtain the transient responses. However, as the scale of the interconnect system expands and the number of distributed circuits of interconnects at global level increases, the state space model becomes increasingly complex. To reduce the amount of data computation and shorten the calculation time, the Laguerre-singular value decomposition (SVD) method is applied to reduce the order of the state space model for a single multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) bundle interconnect, aiming to simplify the model. Based on the proposed method, we analyzed the output responses of the interconnect for current-mode signaling (CMS) and voltage-mode signaling (VMS). Moreover, various metrics were evaluated, including the absolute errors, mean absolute errors, and relative error norms between the reduced order model with different orders and the original model. Additionally, we compared the performance of different methods and extended the proposed method to investigate the functional crosstalk of the two-line coupled interconnects. The results demonstrate that a low-order model can accurately approximate the original model. Consequently, this method will be helpful for the design and analysis of novel nanoscale integrated interconnect circuits.
