Abstract
The field of energy conversion has been revolutionized by the concept of “ionovoltaics”, a groundbreaking approach that utilizes water motion with ion dynamics to generate electrical energy. The goal of ionovoltaic research is to present the most convincing mechanism for the much‐debated principle of water motion energy conversion through a deeper understanding of solid‐liquid interfacial phenomena, and to discuss the potential of ionovoltaics to transform related fields such as novel energy harvesters, interfacial analysis tools, and bio/chemical sensors. image
