Abstract

Abstract A novel phototherapeutic agent IABDP which possessed the near infrared absorbing was synthesized and characterized. The IABDP can self-assemble into ∼200 nm nanoparticles (IABDP NPs) with high stability by reprecipitation method. Under the low power light irradiation, it exhibits the excellent photodynamic therapy (PDT), while increasing the irradiated power, it exhibits significant photothermal therapy (PTT). Moreover, the particles can generate severe damage to HeLa and HepG2 cells and obvious inhibition effect to the tumor via synergistic PDT/PTT treatments.
