Tailored Crown Ether‐Based Cationic Polymer Networks for Selective Sequestration of 99 TcO 4 − /ReO 4 − from Alkaline Radioactive Wastewater (Adv. Funct. Mater. 22/2026)

Abstract
Alkaline Radioactive Wastewater In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202530169), Xiaocheng Xu, Chengliang Xiao, and co-workers successfully synthesize a novel and robust crown ether–based cationic polymer network (CPN-crown). This material exhibits efficient removal of 99TcO4− from highly alkaline radioactive wastewater through the synergistic interaction between imidazolium groups and cationic cavities formed via specific recognition of Na+ by crown ethers.
