Abstract

Cell Adhesion In article number 2414899, Smadar Cohen, Lital Alfonta, and co-workers present collagen-mimicking peptides (CMPs) produced in E. coli with site-specific L-DOPA incorporation using genetic code expansion. L-DOPA enhances fibril self-assembly, stability, and cell adhesion. These CMPs promote cell growth and activity, offering custom solutions for tissue engineering. This innovative approach integrates synthetic biology and tissue engineering to advance collagen-based applications.
