Abstract

On page 2518, Bazan and co-workers describe the design and function of “aptatags” that consist of aptamer-decorated silver nanoparticles brought together by an organic linker. This linkeris strategically located where surface enhancement of Raman signals takes place. The aptamer probes were chosen to selectively bind specific proteins. These structural attributes of aptatags allow the development of a new heterogeneous protein detection method.
