Abstract

In article number 1908383, Matthew N. Lee and co-workers create a new class of ultralight carbon aerogels using bicontinuous interfacially jammed emulsion gels (bijels) as interfacial scaffolds. These hierarchically porous materials exist as an interconnected network of hollow particles and show enhanced electrochemical performance when compared to emulsion-templated structures and purely nanoporous specimens. These results open up the use of bijels for new generations of aerogel materials.
