Abstract

Natural nacre provides an inspiration for assembling graphene nanosheets into macroscopic high performance nanocomposites, as demonstrated by Qungfeng Cheng and co-workers in article number 1605636. Due to the synergistic interfacial interactions of covalent and ionic bonding, a material with a high intrinsic tensile strength and toughness, and other functions, such as excellent electrical conductivity, fatigue resistance, etc., is obtained.
