Lithium–Sulfur Batteries: Facile Solid‐State Growth of 3D Well‐Interconnected Nitrogen‐Rich Carbon Nanotube–Graphene Hybrid Architectures for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries (Adv. Funct. Mater. 7/2016)
Source abstract
Abstract
Y. Yu and co-workers report a solid-state approach to the in-situ fabrication of highly nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube graphene 3D hybrid architectures, without necessitating chemical vapor deposition. Due to the robust, porous, and well-interconnected 3D structure of the product, fast electron transport and lithium diffusion are possible, leading to superior electrochemical performance when used as a cathode host for lithium-sulfur batteries. On page 1112, such results reveal the potential for this hybrid material for energy storage application.
