Improving Osseointegration Potential of 3D Printed PEEK Implants with Biomimetic Periodontal Ligament Fiber Hydrogel Surface Modifications (Adv. Funct. Mater. 14/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
3D Printed PEEK Implants In article number 2308811, Yuan Zhao, Zengjie Fan, and co-workers develop multifunctional personalized polyether-etherketone (PEEK) implants by modifying 3D printed PEEK implants using a drug-loaded photocured hydrogel composed of acrylic acid-acrylamide (AA-AM) containing simvastatin-cefepime (SIM-CFP). The modified implant, known as SCHSPEEK, mimics the structure of periodontal ligament fibers and possesses antibacterial, osteogenic, and stress-dispersing properties.
