Abstract

An innovative approach to effectively improving the 3D endothelialization of small-diameter vascular grafts is presented by Xuemin Du and co-workers in article number 1801027. The novel shape-morphing scaffolds with favorably attached vascular endothelial cells enable a programmed deformation from 2D planner shape to a controllable 3D tubular shape at physiological temperature.
