Abstract
NaKLaNbO 5 ( 1 ) and Na 2 K 2 Gd 4 Nb 2 O 13 ( 2 ) were synthesized and crystallized by reacting La 2 O 3 or Gd 2 O 3 with Nb 2 O 5 in molten NaOH/KOH hydroxide salts at 400 and 450 °C, respectively. 1 and 2 adopt related two-dimensional structures, containing anionic metal oxide slabs with alkali metal ions located between the layers.
