Abstract

High porosity in 3D‐printed continuous fiber‐reinforced composites remains a major challenge, compromising the quality of the final parts. This study proposes a novel nozzle vibration‐assisted compaction technique using a voice coil motor to enhance the mechanical properties of 3D‐printed continuous fiber reinforced composites. A voice coil motor with controllable amplitude and frequency was integrated with the printing nozzle to apply periodic vibrations in the z ‐direction during the printing process. The effects of different vibration parameters (50 μm/5 Hz, 75 μm/5 Hz, 50 μm/10 Hz, 75 μm/10 Hz) on mechanical properties and microstructure were systematically investigated through three‐point bending tests, tensile tests, and microscopic analysis. Experimental results demonstrated that the optimal nozzle vibration‐assisted compaction parameters (50 μm/10 Hz) significantly enhanced flexural strength and modulus by 47.3% and 17.3%, tensile strength and modulus by 3.3% and 19.7%, respectively, while reducing porosity from 8.6% to 1.5%, providing an effective approach to improving the quality and expanding the application potential of 3D‐printed continuous fiber composites.
