Abstract

Personalized medicine requires drug delivery systems capable of tuning release profiles to meet individual therapeutic needs. In this study, we developed a 3D‐printed scaffold for the controlled release of green‐synthesized Au/Ag bimetallic nanoparticles using a starch–gellan gum bioink. The nanoparticles, prepared from Syzygium hemisphericum extract, were characterized through Dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, field‐emission scanning electron microscope, and transmission electron microscope, exhibited strong antioxidant, antimicrobial (minimum bactericidal concentration <12 µg/mL), and photocatalytic activities. Cytocompatibility assessments in A549, L929, and MG63 cell lines demonstrated >95% viability below 100 µg/mL, which was further supported by nuclear and live‐dead imaging. Based on these properties, the nanoparticles were incorporated into a biocompatible 3D‐printed scaffold. Bioink compositions were optimized by varying gellan gum and starch concentrations, ensuring appropriate rheology, printability, and cytocompatibility. The resulting scaffolds were characterized for pore size, porosity, and degradation behavior to validate their suitability for drug delivery. In vitro release studies demonstrated that the release kinetics of the nanoparticles could be systematically tuned by adjusting bioink composition, scaffold thickness, and solvent systems. Overall, the study demonstrates that the developed nanoparticle‐embedded 3D‐printed scaffold enables tunable and sustained release, and potential drug carrier capabilities, highlighting its prospects as a customizable platform for drug delivery and applications in wound healing and regenerative medicine.
