Performance Study of Microcrack Sensor Prepared by Screen Printing
Source abstract
Abstract
This study conducts relative performance analysis of flexible microcrack sensor fabricated by screen printing (SP). The microcrack sensor is prepared by polymer matrix (silicone rubber matrix) and electrically conductive ink (carbon black‐based). Experimental result demonstrates that prepared flexible sensor has excellent high sensitivity gauge factor (GF, GF 1 = 200 at 0%–20% strain and GF 2 = 624 at 20%–30% strain), and minimal response and recovery times (80 and 160 ms respectively). Besides, the stability is confirmed more than 3500 stretching cycles. Meanwhile, flexible sensors effectively detect human physiological signals such as pulse, respiration, vocal vibrations, and monitor joint movements. Here, the ability of sensor to distinguish between sound signals and changes in airflow has the potential for many applications such as voice recognition and respiratory monitoring. These findings establish the microcrack sensor as a promising tool for wearable and biomedical sensing applications.
