Effects of Silver on the Strength in the T8 Condition and the Heat Resistance of Al–Cu–Li–Sc Alloy
Source abstract
Abstract
Heat Resistance In article number 2402642, Zhihao Zhao, Gaowu Qin, and co-workers reveal that silver (Ag) enhances the strength of Al–Cu–Li–Sc alloy in the T8 condition but reduces their heat resistance due to excessive Ag- and Cu-containing phases, which weaken Al2CuLi-T1 precipitates′ coarsening resistance. Higher Ag content and thermal exposure exacerbate this effect. This study guides the design of heat-resistant Al–Cu–Li alloys for specific applications.
