Special issue “MatCom‐ComMat: Materials Compounds from Composite Materials for Applications in Extreme Conditions”
Source abstract
Abstract
MatCom-ComMat This special issue (2401029) presents the development, characterization and modelling of novel multi-phase composite systems capable of withstanding temperatures substantially beyond those of currently used Nickel-based superalloys. The cover picture shows the atomistic structure of an interface between Σ5(310) grain boundary in Mo3Si, an ultrahigh-temperature stable intermetallic compound, and a polymer-derived SiOC0.5 ceramic outer coating layer for ultrahigh-temperature structural applications.
