Texture Development during Tensile Testing for Mechanical r-Value Determination
Source abstract
Abstract
Computer simulations can predict the plastic behaviour of steel sheet material during forming processes. The applied numerical algorithms need input data like r-values, which are currently determined by the uniaxial tensile test. The calculation of the yield locus and the r-value (Lankford parameter) from the crystallographic structure or texture of the material would give more complete information. This investigation aimed to analyze the differences between r-values determined mechanically and calculated from texture in order to improve the agreement between these measuring techniques.
