Abstract

Fiber reinforced titanium alloys are promising candidates for high performance applications at high temperatures. The graph shows a typical cross section of a composite specimen which was used for creep tests at 600 °C. On the basis of the measured relaxation behavior of the unreinforced Ti‐alloy the relaxation of the Ti‐matrix in the composite material is predicted. The predicted creep strain of the composite material is compared with the experimental results.
