Investigations on Damage in a Filled Epoxy Resin
Source abstract
Abstract
The demand for high‐end products is rising. Thus, the ability to predict the deterioration of materials under service conditions becomes a critical task. This work studies the damage evolution in a filled epoxy resin submitted to low cycle fatigue loading. A TEM analysis shows delamination at the interface between matrix and particles, providing evidence of damage. The cyclic fatigue is modeled by a continuum damage mechanics approach.
