Dynamic Deformation Measurement of Woven Composite with Edge Cracks
Source abstract
Abstract
The dynamic tensile fracture behavior of woven‐fiber reinforced composites with different arrangements of edge cracks (see Figure for schematics of two types) was experimentally studied by dynamic optical‐fiber displacement measurements, whereby dynamic load and displacement were recorded. The evolution of dynamic macrostrain in the specimens was ascertained, and some nonlinear fracture mechanisms due to micromechanics of composites were observed.
