Abstract

Preparation and characterization of TiO2 reinforced hydroxyapatite nanocomposites derived by high-energy ball milling and spark plasma sintering processes are studied. Effects of TiO2 molar content and sintering temperature on the microstructural, mechanical and bioactive behaviors of the nanocomposites are conducted and elaborated. The bioactivity of the reinforced nanocomposites with the addition of different TiO2 molar contents is evaluated by immersing the compact disks in the simulated body fluids.
