High‐Temperature Erosion and Corrosion Measurement of Thermally Sprayed Materials
Source abstract
Abstract
Thermally‐sprayed surface coatings are a preferred means of protection for highly stressed steel parts against mechanical erosion (like in heat exchanger tubes of power plants) or chemical corrosion (like e.g., in the interior of waste incinerators) at elevated temperature. The authors compare the properties of several coating materials with respect to their stability at 530–640 °C. The Figure shows a freshly‐sprayed and a corroded surface of the Co‐based alloy T800.
