Enhancing Neural Stem Cell Stimulation with Structured Piezoelectric Composites: An In Vitro Study
Source abstract
Abstract
In this article number 2300696 Hamideh Khanbareh, Vlad Jarkov, and co-workers present the manufacturing, characterisation, and application of structured piezoelectric composites for In-Vitro stimulation of Neural Stem Cells to promote tissue repair. Neural stem cells survive, proliferate, retain stemness and differentiate into their daughter populations on the surfaces of the novel piezoelectric composite materials. Significant enhancement in neural differentiation is observed on poled substrates due to the piezoelectric surface charge.
