Abstract

Hypereutectic Al–Si Alloys In article number 2401542, Anastasiya Toenjes and co-workers investigate how cooling rates affect primary silicon formation in PBF-LB/M-processed hypereutectic Al–Si alloys. Varying substrate temperatures and energy inputs influence the refinement of Si phases. Smaller primary silicon leads to higher hardness and improved mechanical properties.
