Abstract

ABSTRACT 3D printing has been widely recognized as a transformative tool for fabricating geometrically complex battery architectures. However, as‐printed battery structures often fail to meet the electrochemical and mechanical requirements for direct in‐use applications. Post‐processing, a critical yet frequently overlooked step in battery 3D printing, serves as an essential bridge to this gap. Here, in this tutorial Review, we systematically elucidate the pivotal role of post‐processing in 3D printed battery materials and devices. Fundamental functions, including internal microstructure optimization, electrochemical interface engineering, and active site modulation, are comprehensively summarized. Typical post‐processing strategies are also discussed for various 3D printing techniques, offering a systematic framework for achieving desirable battery performance with tailored post‐processing. A forward‐looking perspective on future research directions in 3D printed batteries is also provided. As post‐processing gains greater attention, it is expected to continuously assist in driving performance improvement and reforming the field of 3D printed batteries in the future.
