Compression‐Guided Formation of Interlocked Membrane–Electrode Interfaces Using Nickel Sponge for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolysis (Adv. Energy Mater. 44/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolysis In article number 2503164, Sung Hoon Ahn and co-workers illustrate the compression-guided formation of an interlocked membrane–electrode interface based on a fibrous nickel sponge. The intertwined fibers visualize tight mechanical integration and void-free interfacial contact, while their penetration into the membrane highlights the structural adaptability. The compression-resilient porous framework ensures efficient gas and ion transport, enabling durable ampere-level hydrogen production under industrially relevant alkaline conditions.
