Abstract

Fuel Cells In article number 2302971 Hansung Kim, Chang Hyuck Choi, Woong Hee Lee, Hyung-Suk Oh and co-workers report the underlying mechanism of Pt-Ni octahedron activity restoration as a new strategy to enhance durability for anion exchange membrane-based unitized regenerative fuel cells (AEM-URFCs). The alkaline electrolyte induces nickel oxide passivation on the (111) facet of the Pt-Ni octahedron to reduce the dissolution of Pt, demonstrating stable operation of a AEM-URFC single cell over 10 cycles with recovery process.
