Metastable Cubic Structure Exceeds Capacity Limit of Antifluorite Li5FeO4 Cathode Using Small Polarized Oxygen Redox (Adv. Energy Mater. 9/2023)
Source abstract
Abstract
Lithium-Ion Batteries In article number 2203441, Hiroaki Kobayashi and co-workers report the metastable cubic antifluorite Li5FeO4, a cost-effective and high-capacity cathode material, obtained by mechanochemical treatment. It provides a reversible capacity of more than 300 mAh g−1, utilizing the oxygen redox reaction with a smaller polarization than that of typical rocksalt-type Li-rich oxides.
