Abstract

Li-ion Batteries In article number 2100330, Ilja Popovs, Watchareeya Kaveevivitchai and co-workers develop organic small-molecule-based cathode material (HATAQ) for Li-ion batteries. Introduction of quinone moieties into the electron-deficient hexaazatriphenylene-derivative core results in highly extended p-conjugation and a favorable supramolecular 2D layered arrangement in the solid-state. This report provides design principles for organic cathode materials with exceptional energy density, rate capability, and cycling stability.
